ASU Club Ratification Package

 
All of the following forms MUST be completed in FULL before your club will be considered for ratification. After your application is submitted, it will be reviewed promptly by the ASU Executive Vice President and monitored by the ASU Student Affairs committee. Upon review, you will be notified whether your club has been ratified or not. Should you have any questions or comments, please email the ASU Executive Vice President at asuevp@acadiau.ca.

Members :: On each line, have the name of member, their email address, and whether they have paid the membership fee or not
 
Please note: If your club charges $5 or over for club membership fee you must provide an exact breakdown of where the money is going within the organization. The ASU will NOT ratify a club that does not legitimately explain their club's BUDGET (that includes Membership Fees).

Club Policy Agreement

 
The
 
 
Club/Society acknowledges the receipt and understanding of the Acadia Student’s Union Club Policies and agrees to operate in a manner that abides by the ASU’s Constitution.
 
The
 
 
Club/Society also understands and accepts that:
  • Any abuse of space and/or other privileges extended the by the Acadia Students' Union to the ratified club/society shall be the club/society's sole responsibility;
  • Any member of the Acadia Students' Union Executive Board or duly authorized staff have the right to immediately suspend those privileges as a result of the abuse of space and/or other privileges extended by the Acadia Students' Union;
  • The Acadia Students' Union reserves the right to de-ratify any club/society that does not follow policy or conducts/participates in any illegal activities.

  • We acknowledge and agree to all terms and conditions as stated above and endorsed by Students' Representative Council.
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     

    Club Constitution

     
    Your Club/Society constitution is required for ASU ratification to ensure that:
  • All clubs/societies operate in a manner that provides maximum service to their members and to the university community at large.
  • Club’s/society’s administrative and electoral duties are recorded in writing, creating proper and precise management of all club/society affairs.
  • The provisions and spirit of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Act and the Canadian Charter of Rights are upheld.
  • Groups have an open membership to all Acadia students.
  • Future executives and members will benefit from past experiences.

    Advisor Form

     
    Clubs/societies are strongly urged, but not required to have an affiliated advisor. It’s recommended that all clubs seeking support from the Acadia Student Activities Fund have access to an advisor.
